How to Beat the Winter Blues by Spending Time Outdoors

Wow, how time flies!  Doesn't it seem like only a few weeks ago we were carving pumpkins in mid-October?  And here we are in 2011; Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukah, Christmas and New Years all behind us.  I know the post-holiday season can invoke the "holiday blues" and I hope that by posting today I can motivate you to get outdoors and enjoy the brisk days of winter.  Yes, I said outdoors!  Did you know that as of today  48 of our 50 states has snow on the ground?  A sign a globing warming I suppose, but don't let that keep you huddled up indoors.
Think about all of the fun you can have nestled next to a warm fire pit with the ones most important to you, roasting marshmallows, sharing funny memories, and creating new ones too. All you need is a fire pit or portable campfire, some wood for burning, marshmallows, and your favorite grilling food if desired.
Step back and take a deep breath. Feels great, doesn't it?  Just because there's a chill in the air, and the trees are bare spending some quality time outdoors can have some surprising benefits.  Spending time outside during the winter months can keep your bones strong, can trigger vitamin D production in the skin, and can drastically improve your mood by improving your self-esteem and improving your sense of well-being.
So why waste another minute suffering from the winter blues?  Fire up the portable campfire or fire pit and get outdoors for some summertime fun in the wintertime.

Patio Heater Add Profits to Commercial Establishments

Several restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and other similar establishments have outdoor patios or decks that cater to patrons who enjoy the ambience of sitting outdoors in the fresh air. But of course, when that air gets brisk and nippy, outdoor business can be put on hold until the weather breaks. By simply adding a patio heater to those outdoor areas, business owners can easily eliminate the need to halt outside sales.

Fortunately, technology has come up with a solution to Mother Nature and the chilly days and nights she brings. A patio heater, also called an umbrella or mushroom heater, is an appliance that generates radiant heat for indoor or outdoor use. A burner on top of a post burns liquefied petroleum gas, propane, or electricity and directs the flames against a perforated metal screen. Heat is radiated from the surface of the screen in a circular pattern around the appliance. A reflector at the top of the burner redirects heat back toward the surface that would be otherwise lost.

It goes without saying that a retail establishment wants to maximize seating and table arrangements to accommodate as many paying customers as possible - for as long as possible. Similarly, patrons want to be kept comfortably warm while enjoying their food and spirits. Patio heaters provide instant controllable warmth making outdoor areas as comfortable and enjoyable as any indoor room which achieves both the needs of the business owner and its patrons.

In addition to providing warmth for clientele who are enjoying a meal or cocktails, many countries have banned smoking in public places. Providing an outdoor heater in a discrete area on your establishment's property can provide smokers with a warm location where they can smoke without offending non-smoking customers thus increasing even more revenue and profits that otherwise might be lost to establishments that cater to smoking patrons.

More Ideas for the Holidays; Gifts of Time!

As I say in my profile, I love to provide additional content not related to our products because we believe in building relationships and keeping a balance in life! Today I wanted to offer another great idea for inexpensive holiday gifts; Gifts of Time! This is a favorite of mine because Gifts of Time truly embraces the holiday spirit, not materialism.

Homemade gifts are wonderful to give to the people who have everything, especially if you have a particular talent or hobby. Knitting, crocheting, and fabric crafts enable you to give away unique gifts without breaking the bank. From the home chef: cookies, canned goods, and even herb-infused oils are delicious ways to share your talent with friends and family. Even if you don’t have a specific hobby or talent, you can search the internet for ideas on creating easy homemade Christmas gifts. Homemade Christmas gifts are also a great way to get your kids involved by having them help out.  Other ideas are to offer a handmade or computer generated “coupon” that promises the recipient can exchange it for something special, like an afternoon fishing or learning a family recipe or even something more personal (ha ha, you know what I mean).

Gifts of time are what give to someone who already has everything because time cannot be purchased. Gifts like these cost relatively little, but are highly valued because time is so precious. I personally love getting Gifts of Time more than store bought gifts, because it shows that the giver has put a considerable amount of time thinking of you while creating that special gift and it is usually a gift that will go on remembered long after it is given.

During this, the weekend before Christmas we hope you can avoid the stresses of last minute shopping and enjoy the true spirit of the holiday season!

Keeping the Holidays in Perspective – Investing in a Patio Heater for those Post Holiday Events

Doesn't seem like each year the holiday season comes in and quickly vanishes before our very eyes?  I think it has something to do with age, hee hee!  Honestly though, as a kid don't you remember how long it seemed to take for the holiday to arrive?  My youngest children still ask, "how many more days 'til Christmas?"  For adults, however it seems to come too fast; the shopping, decorating, baking, and all the other preparations we inflict on ourselves to make this holiday the best ever.  With only 11 days until Christmas just keep in mind that you're creating memories that soon will be just that, memories!  Try to stay sane in these last few days, you'll make it through even though at times it doesn't feel like you will; somehow everything gets done or at least the things that are most important to your holiday traditions get done; they always do, don’t they?

After the holiday rush is over, take time to sit back and relax; hopefully you'll have some time-off from your job to spend with family and friends before the next big event starts getting hyped-up!

If you're a football fan the next big event after the holidays is the NFL playoffs and of course Super Bowl Sunday!  Some of the biggest football fans I know are tailgaters; they love heading to their hometown teams football stadium very early in the morning, sometimes as early as 6:00 a.m. in order to get the "best" tailgate spot!  They set their tailgate areas up with tents, grills, and the other amenities that make football tailgating so much fun!   To be honest I never really understood this phenomenon; go to the field, set up the television and grill, make sure the beer is on ice only freeze your butt off not only waiting for the game to begin but throughout the game itself.  I never really understood going through all of this work only to be cold when I could be in my heated house enjoying most of the same fun.  Then I thought of the concept of bringing along our patio heater; wow, what a great idea!  Now it doesn't have to be so cold during that tailgate party and you get the added value of hanging out with all the other football fans.

Create a Heat Wave on Your Patio or Deck!

Several restaurants, pubs and other similar establishments have outdoor patios or decks that cater to patrons who enjoy sitting outdoors in the fresh air—but of course, when that air gets brisk and chilly, that business can be put on hold until the weather breaks. Every restaurant owner wants to maximize seating and table arrangements to accommodate as many paying customers as possible, for as long as possible. Fortunately, technology has come up with a solution to that problem with patio heaters!  We all know that those autumn and early spring evenings can get mighty chilly and shivering patrons aren't an option. So if you want to extend the use of your outdoor dining areas, keep your customers happy, and maintain your profit from outdoor sales, an outdoor patio heater will allow you to do just that.
